Covid-19 (Coronavirus): media statements

NHS England announces the number of deaths nationally every day. These will be reported here, after they are officially announced.

Statement on behalf of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

Dame Jacqueline Docherty, Chief Executive, for London North West University  NHS Trust said:

“Sadly, we can confirm that a further 21 patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have passed away between Friday 20 March and Monday 23 March, and our thoughts remain with those people who have lost loved ones.

“Our trust is seeing a high number of Intensive Care Unit cases, and we are stepping up our support in response to this demand, having already significantly increased the number of intensive care beds at our hospitals, but we need everyone to also do their bit by staying at home and washing your hands.”

For further information please contact the NHS England and NHS Improvement media team on or 01138 250958/9

The trust, DHSC, NHS England and NHS Improvement will not be giving out any further information on these patients.

The media are asked to respect the wishes of the families, and the interests of staff at the hospital to avoid any disruption to operational services.
