New cancer clinic at Northwick Park

Clinic for vague symptoms

Patients presenting with non-site specific cancer symptoms can now be referred to a GP-led service at Northwick Park Hospital.

The Vague Symptoms Clinic investigates ‘red flag’ symptoms that potentially indicate an underlying cancer such as weight loss, anaemia, non-specific abdominal pain and night sweats.

Historically, there has been the site specific 2WW pathway for people with specific symptoms of cancer but there was no service available for people with a non-site-specific symptom.

Patients are seen within a week of their GP referral and the aim is to discharge or refer to another speciality service within 28 days from the time of the GP referral referral.
