The team is part of our multi-disciplinary cancer team and is made up of clinical and counselling psychologists. They can provide face-to-face or virtual care as part of your outpatient or inpatient care.

The Macmillan psychological service can help you:

  • adjust to your diagnosis
  • cope with the symptoms of your illness
  • cope with the side effects of treatments, such as fatigue, pain, and sickness
  • cope with change, loss, and uncertainty
  • with feelings of low mood, depression, anxiety, and worry
  • manage and prepare for medical procedures and its side effects
  • support you with decision making with treatment or surgery
  • cope with how cancer affects relationships, sexual functioning, and fertility

Referring to Macmillan psychological service

The team will see you if you are a patient receiving care under our oncology service. We accept referrals from a wide range of healthcare professionals on ICE or by email to the cancer psychology team

We are unable to accept self-referrals.
