Preparing for birth sessions
Our preparing for parenthood sessions include information and advice about:
- pregnancy
- birth
- the period after your baby is born.
Experienced midwives and maternity support workers from Northwick Park Hospital lead the sessions.
You can join when you’re 32 or more weeks into your pregnancy. Your partner or a friend or family member can come with you.
What you'll learn
You’ll learn about:
- our antenatal care and support services
- planning for your birth
- what to expect in the period before you give birth (the last trimester)
- where you can give birth
- what to expect during your labour
- pain relief during labour
- infant feeding
- wellbeing and recovery after labour
- postnatal support services in Brent and Harrow.
You may get a chance to tour our maternity unit and facilities if they are not in use.

- every other Saturday from 10am to 2.30pm
- in the maternity unit at Northwick Park Hospital.
