Audiology for children

Our audiology team assess and support children and young people with hearing conditions. We see patients from 8 months to 18 years old who live in Brent and Harrow.

We provide specialist hearing assessments and ongoing support for children and young people. 

Second-tier service (8 months to 18 years)

We provide:

• Hearing tests suitable for your child's age 
• Middle and outer ear assessments
• Ongoing monitoring of hearing

Third-tier specialist service (from birth)

We provide more specialised care for children who:

• Have permanent hearing loss
• Are at risk of hearing loss
• Find it difficult to complete standard hearing tests

This service includes

• Behavioural hearing assessments
• Middle and outer ear assessments
• Hearing monitoring
• Electrophysiological (specialist) hearing tests
• Hearings aids and support 
• Hearing aid repairs and maintenance

We do not accept self-referrals.

GP and consultant referrals

• We accept referrals for patients living in Brent and Harrow
• Referrals must be made through the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS)

Speech and language therapists, health visitors, and other healthcare/educational professionals can email lnwh-tr.access-centre@nhs .net for our referral form.

You can collect hearing aid batteries from:

• Central Middlesex Hospital: ACAD reception desk
• Ealing Hospital: Outpatients 4, Audiology reception, Level 2
• Northwick Park Hospital: Outpatient reception desk, Level 4 

Opening times are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.

Please bring your:

• Brown battery book, or 
• White battery card

You can recycle used batteries at our hospitals or in most supermarkets.
