Birth after caesarean classes
Our birth after caesarean classes help you to consider all your childbirth options after a previous caesarean birth.
If you had a baby by caesarean in the past, you may still be able to have vaginal birth in the future.
But you may need extra monitoring and support if you do decide to have a vaginal birth.
We call this a vaginal birth after caesarean. You may hear us say VBAC for short.
What you’ll learn at our birth after caesarean classes
During the session we will discuss:
- reasons you had a caesarean last time, and how your previous birth may influence your current pregnancy
- benefits and risks of a vaginal birth, and induction of labour and planned elective caesarean
- tips and techniques to help you position your baby and staying active during your labour
- how we’ll monitor you during labour
- warning signs of a scar rupture.
And we’ll hear personal, lived experiences from a mum who has experienced vaginal birth after caesarean.
