Team-based rostering win international award
Join us in congratulating our team-based rostering team, who have won a European RL Datix Award in the category Improving care through data and insight.
By using team-based rostering, more than 3,000 staff at LNWH can make requests about when to work their contracted hours.
The process offers much greater flexibility to clinical colleagues, who have traditionally had to follow rigid processes, while also keeping clinical staffing safely at the right levels.
The team were also highly commended for Transforming workforce wellbeing and flexibility, with three quarters of colleagues reporting satisfaction with the project due to the improved work-life balance it can bring.
As well as improving staff experience, the project saved more than £1.5m last year, reducing our reliance on bank requests and reducing sickness absence.
The team faced fierce competition at the awards, with more than 100 submissions, but their commitment to improving the way we provide care for our colleagues and our patients alike saw them pip the rest to the post.
They are now planning to share what they’ve learned with neighbouring trusts, so colleagues across north west London can benefit from the project’s success.
The team will continue to develop their work, with a special focus on equity and inclusion.
