Physiotherapist Samantha Lynn-Quinn is one of several Allied Health Professionals involved with the nationwide vaccination programme helping administer jabs and ensure the smooth running at the Wembley vaccination centre.
Samantha said: “It’s great to be involved in what I’d call the ‘happy side’ of healthcare after the past year. People coming in are so grateful and friendly. It’s a real pleasure working here because everyone is so nice.”
The Wembley hub sees around 900 people on a busy day and Samantha’s job is to walk the floor overseeing the day-to-day running of the vaccination centre, be on hand to answer any questions as well as dispel vaccine myths.
Volunteers don’t have to have prior clinical experience and include an airline pilot and cabin crew who all underwent training including giving vaccinations and basic life support.
Sam added: “People skills are the most important thing as administering the jab is straightforward. The majority don’t even realise they’ve had it.”
