Runners raise £,8000 for patients

Medics from Northwick Park Hospital were among the participants who raised nearly £8,000 for patients recovering from Covid-19.

One hundred and twenty seven people took part in the virtual footrace which covered the 1,300km distance between London and Lombardy.

Northwick Park was one of the hardest-hit hospitals in the UK during the first wave while Lombardy was Italy's worst-hit region with 87,000 cases of Covid-19 and more than 16,000 deaths.

The race was organised by intensive care doctors and the weekend warriors eventually clocked up 2,070km raising £7,971.
