Pharmacies dispense with delays
Ealing Hospital’s pharmacy team are employing their own shock and awe tactics this week as part of Pharmacy Focus Week by extending their satellite service across all the wards at Ealing Hospital.
The satellite pharmacies, staffed by Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians and assistants, dispense prescriptions in as little as 25 minutes.
They replace the need for nurses or porters having to collect medicines from the main pharmacy which often means longer delays for patients.
Pharmacy hope a successful week will see the permeant introduction of a satellite service in Five North, Six North Six South and Eight South.
To date, four satellites are operational at Northwick Park, two in Ealing and one at Central Middlesex.
