Nurse runner-up in national awards

It was a narrow miss for Therese Hona who was a runner-up in the Gary Logue Colorectal Cancer Nurse Awards.

Therese, a senior oncology nurse who works at St Mark’s Hospital, was one of three finalists at the annual awards held by Bowel Cancer UK.

Catherine Winsor, Director of Services at Bowel Cancer UK, said: “We are incredibly proud of Therese who was nominated by her colleagues for the support she provides to patients and nurses in her new role as Senior Oncology Nurse.

“We thank Therese, her peers, and the thousands of colorectal cancer nurses up and down the country who show exceptional care to patients throughout their cancer journey.”
