Meet the master of MRI

Rejosh George has won the regional radiographer of the Year Award.

The award recognises Rejosh for creating the world’s only dedicated online educational and learning resource for radiographers seeking to learn Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

It has been an ongoing labor of love for Rejosh, who has burned the midnight oil for 12 years to produce a comprehensive reference and study guide for imaging the human anatomy.

His website, mrimaster.com, attracts more than 300,000 visitors a month and aims to provide a valuable resource for everyone, whether they are an MRI professional, radiography student, radiologist, medical student, or simply a curious individual.

Here, you can immerse yourself in MRI image characteristics, refine your technique, or study cross-sectional anatomy.

Rejosh, who works as an MRI superintendent at Northwick Park Hospital, said, “There is no formal training, exams, or qualifications for MRI, and the demands of the job mean we can only train two people at a time over a year-long period.”

“It all started as a blog and grew from there. There is a desperate shortage of radiographers in the UK, so we need to do all we can to make it more accessible.”

The hospital has three MRI scanners that can identify almost any part of the body, helping diagnose conditions, plan treatments, and assess the effectiveness of previous procedures.

Rejosh, whose 15-strong team sees up to 75 patients a day, added, “MRI skills are much sought after, so those qualified can pick and choose where they want to work.”
