LNWH named work experience provider of the year
LNWH has been named work experience provider of the year at the first ever Youth Careers Awards.
The nomination and subsequent win reflect the team's commitment and hard work to offering high quality placements to young people with special educational needs.
Participants get to experience a range of different roles, including a hands-on approach where they take part in practical tasks.
The programme has had excellent feedback, with one young person describing his gratitude for the way in which it has boosted his confidence and self-esteem.
The winning citation read on the night stated: “Led by Bambi, this is the third consecutive academic year when the team has supported students through the provision of high-quality, meaningful placements.
“They have supported more than 30 young people including ringfencing 5 placements per term for students with Special Educational Needs.
“Working together over the last three years, with amazing, personalised support and tailored adjustments, they've opened doors and given young people access to professional experiences that would otherwise be unavailable to them.”
