Hospital bosses put best foot forward

Hospital bosses are taking the long walk on Sunday, Jan 28 when they raise money for hospital projects proposed by staff.

Chief Executive Pippa Nightingale will be lacing up her trainers along with four colleagues on the 10-mile hike between the trust’s four hospital sites in Brent, Harrow and Ealing.

LNWH Charity put £1 million up for grabs asking staff to come up with ideas on how the money should be spend.

It received more than 1,000 ideas with the four winning entries received £250,000 each to implement their ideas.

The trust’s management team was so taken aback by the response that they are now helping to fundraise for some of the remaining projects.

CEO Pippa Nightingale said: “We wanted to do our bit so hope to encourage other people to follow suit and help raise money for some really great ideas.”

Will she be leading from the front?

“Well, one of my fellow walkers used to be in the Army so if he starts marching he’s on his own.”
