Ealing robot wins hearts and minds
Ealing surgeons can't get enough of their newest staffer.
The hospital recently celebrated its 64th procedure using a Da Vinci robot that arrived six weeks ago.
The multi-million pound multi-armed robot is primarily used in low complexity, high volume cases to help reduce waiting lists and is now one of three robots working across the trust's three hospital sites.
The granddaddy of the trio started work at St Mark's Hospital in Park Royal in 2018 and is about to complete its 1,000th procedure.
Ealing surgeon Hemant Sheth is leading the charge having completed more than 20 procedures.
“It takes a bit of getting used to but is a fantastic piece of equipment and we hope to get more of our surgical colleagues trained in robotics in the near future.”
