Comfortably Classical tune up for hospital recital at Northwick Park

Musicians will be live-streaming a performance on Facebook from Northwick Park as part of the City of London Sinfonia’s ‘Comfortable Classical’ project on Thursday July 23 at 11.30am.

The Sinfonia has been encouraging people to listen in during the pandemic with a series of performances broadcast from their living rooms, gardens and even an allotment.

Gastroenterologist Dr Maxton Pitcher has been invited to play with the Sinfonia which will tugging the heart strings with music from Elgar, Bach, Faure and Gardel.

Maxton said: “Music and Medicine have been companions throughout my life and it’s great to be able to bring these together with my special friends later this week.”

The consultant and his violin made several notable appearances during the first wave of the pandemic when he serenaded two medical colleagues discharged from hospital after recovering from COVID-19.
