Birthing centre reopens

Northwick Park Hospital’s Birth Centre is back in the baby business after a major refurbishment.

The centre now offers five private ensuite birthing rooms; four of which have birthing pools and two with double beds for families to spend time together.

Improvements to the midwife-led birthing centre is another step forward for the hospital’s maternity unit and in line with national recommendations.

Caroline Macrae, Head Of Midwifery and Gynaecology at LNWH Trust, said: “It’s all about offering more choice to our mothers and ensuring they are comfortable as they can be when they give birth.”

Three of the first women to use the centre were Aisha Mirchandani, Auxhea Barjamay and Bhoanic Patel
