What to do if you’re worried about the way your baby is moving

If you notice your baby is moving in an unusual way, it might be a sign that they are struggling.

Don’t put it off: ring 020 8869 2890 and come to the delivery suite triage straight away if your baby is moving:

  • quicker than usual
  • slower than usual
  • more than usual
  • less than usual

Our doctors and midwives are here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it’s our job to care for you and your baby.

Do not use over-the-counter machines to check your baby’s heartbeat. These machines will not give you accurate or reliable results.

Always come to hospital if you are concerned about your baby’s movements.
