Any health professional or educational professional can refer a child to Speech and Language Therapy. Please speak to your Health Visitor, Community Nursery Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Paediatrician or GP about making a referral.
If your child attends nursery, a Children’s Centre or goes to school then staff there can also refer into the speech and language therapy service. In most cases, we use a form called an Early Help Assessment Plan (EHAP) to facilitate a child’s referral to Speech and Language Therapy services.
For more information on EHAPs, please visit the Family Information Service website or call Ealing’s Family Information Service on 020 8825 5588.
If you are unsure whether your child needs a referral and would like to speak to a Speech and Language Therapist first then please attend one of our monthly drop-in sessions. See Support available page.
An appointment letter is going to be sent to you within 6 weeks of us receiving the referral.
