Musculoskeletal specialist and physiotherapy service

The MSK and physiotherapy service provides assessment and treatment for adults with problems with their muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, discs or nerves.

We have a highly skilled team of staff to make sure that you get the most appropriate care within a local community setting. 

We aim to improve your strength, mobility and independence, giving you the power to understand and better manage your condition. As well as treating a specific injury or illness, we will also assess and identify ways to help improve your general well being and quality of life.

The service provides 

  • Specialist MSK assessment

  • Onward Referral to secondary care

  • Radiological and pathological investigations

  • Peripheral joint injections, caudal epidurals and acupuncture

  • Physiotherapy, exercise therapy and manual therapy

  • Exercise classes, including spinal rehabilitation, lower limb, shoulder and back to fitness classes

  • 8am to 5pm - Monday to Friday (later appointments are available at some sites).

Exercises for common ailments 

Here are some exercises you can try at home, without seeing your GP or booking a hospital appointment:

  • neighbourlycare.org.uk - offer classes aimed at older less mobile patients.  Classes include - health walks, yoga, chair exercises, Indian folk dance, keep fit and art and drawing.
