Who can make referrals into the service?
We accept referrals from general dental practitioners, and other health/social care professionals.
What services are provided and who is entitled to treatment?
The community dental services provide routine dental care and inhalation sedation to patients who otherwise experience difficulty accessing dental care as a consequence of one of the following special circumstances:
- moderate to severe learning or physical disability
- complex medical history where condition/medication necessitates special care prior to/during/post dental treatment e.g. poorly-controlled epilepsy. Cystic fibrosis and haemophilia.
- Home visits for those that are housebound
- Children under the age of 16 with learning disabilities, with severe dental decay who have difficulties accepting treatment upon referral.
The service is provided for patients living in the borough of Ealing and registered with a doctor in the borough.
How do I make an appointment?
If you are already a retained patient of our service, then you can contact the clinic by telephone on 020 8383 8729 to arrange an appointment. If you reach voicemail, then please leave a clear message stating your name and telephone number and we will return your call as soon as we can.
If you have been referred into our service, then we will contact you by telephone/post to arrange your first appointment.
Can I choose who treats me?
All referrals are triaged and allocated to the appropriate dentists.
What if I need emergency dental care?
If you are one of our retained patients and are in need of emergency dental care during normal working hours then you can contact the clinic directly on 020 8383 8729.
Outside of normal working hours, please contact dental emergency on 020 3402 1312.
If you are not one of our retained patients and you are in need of emergency dental care, please contact the dental emergency phone number on 020 3402 1312.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you need to cancel an appointment, it is important that you notify us as soon as possible and at least one working day before your appointment.
If you miss more than one appointment without notifying us you will be discharged from the service. You will require a new referral to be seen again.
It is sometimes necessary for us to cancel an appointment and under these circumstances we will endeavour to notify you as soon as possible.
Your rights and responsibilities
As one of our patients, you have a right to receive treatment in a clean and safe environment where you are free from the threat of verbal or physical abuse or any kind of harassment.
If you need to cancel an appointment, it is important that you notify us as soon as possible and at least one working day before your appointment. If you fail to give us sufficient notice of a cancellation or fail to attend appointments, we reserve the right to refuse future treatment.

Our staff have a right to work in a clean and safe environment where they are free from the threat of verbal or physical abuse or any kind of harassment. Incidents of abuse or harassment will be taken very seriously and will be investigated in accordance with Trust policy.

Any patient-identifiable information that we store about you will be stored securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act. You have a right to access any information which we store about you and we will not pass your information outside of the NHS, except where you have given us permission to.
If you are not exempt from charges, the following NHS charges apply:
BAND 1: £18.80
BAND 2 : £51.30
BAND 3: £222.50
