HIV Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

If you have been at significant risk of HIV exposure within the past 72 hours, you should seek advice as soon as possible as you may benefit from medication to prevent HIV infection. During opening hours, please attend any of our GUM clinics and ask to speak to a health adviser, nurse or doctor about PEP.

Out of hours in an emergency, you can attend Accident and Emergency. Again, be sure to inform the nurse or doctor that you need assessment for PEP. They may issue a starter pack, and will refer you to GUM services when they re-open.
