Health visitor careers

Health visitors provide universal, targeted and specific support to promote a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, to children aged 0–5 years, and their families. All of this important work is carried out in partnership with our children’s centre staff, maternity and acute services, general practitioners (GPs), other NHS services, local authorities, voluntary organisations and community sectors within our boroughs.

At London North West Healthcare NHS Trust we aim to attract the best health visitors in order to deliver a high quality service. We are constantly looking at ways to ensure we can offer the best support and development to our workforce.

Whether you join as an experienced practitioner, a newly qualified health visitor or an overseas professional, support is provided through supervision, training, mentoring, career development opportunities and through our dedicated health visiting professional support unit, which provides health visitors with all the pastoral care required to settle in to the area and to assimilate to the local professional and social networks.

The Trust is leading the way in terms of education and research for the health visiting profession through our new academic/ innovation hub.

We also offer unrivalled support to student health visitors undertaking placements at the Trust.
