Organ donation has been getting the ultimate elevator pitch with promotional messages appearing on lift doors at Northwick Park Hospital.

One organ donor can potentially save up to nine lives and people on the donor register have helped save 25 lives in Harrow in the past year with another 45 currently on the waiting list.

More than 6,000 people are waiting for a transplant in the UK with demand far outstripping supply. 500 people died while waiting for a transplant last year.
