Referrals

For difficulties concerning Speech production, Language, Stammering, Social Communication, Selective Mutism & Voice Disorders.

Parents and carers, the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and other healthcare professionals can refer to Speech and Language Therapy for difficulties concerning speech production, language, stammering, social communication, selective mutism and voice disorders. 

If the referral is appropriate, the child will be seen within 18 weeks by the Speech and Language Therapy team. 

This needs to be signed by your school’s Speech and Language Therapist in order to be processed.

For dysphagia (feeding and swallowing difficulties)

Parents, school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and other healthcare professionals can refer to Speech and Language Therapy for difficulties concerning dysphagia. 

If the referral is appropriate, the child will be seen within 2 weeks by the Speech and Language Therapy team.  

If the child is aged 0-5 please complete an EHAP to refer to the dysphagia team. 

If the child is aged 5+ please complete the mainstream primary or secondary referral form to refer to the dysphagia team.
