Clayponds also hosts active outpatient therapy teams treating a range of conditions including stroke and musculo-skeletal conditions, also offering speech and language therapy and psychological support. Services are provided for patients of 16 years or older.

Information for patients and visitors

Clayponds has three mixed sex wards: each has single sex bays and some single side rooms used according to clinical need.  It also has a Day Centre for rehabilitation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients.

The hospital is spacious and all on one level: easing access for wheelchair users, and helping those with limited mobility to move around easily.

As a rehabilitation facility we provide specialist treatment and care to help you to maximise your independence following any illness or injury.

Food and drink

The hospital canteen sells a selection of hot and cold drinks and food. The canteen is open from 8am to 7pm and is closed between 2 and 2.30pm.

Visitors

Clayponds asks all visitors to sign in at Reception, purely for health and safety reasons.

Outpatients

Clayponds welcomes outpatients from Monday to Friday.  As with visitors, outpatients are asked to sign in at Reception.  Patients visiting the ENable and Speech and Language Therapy teams should present themselves at Reception.  Patients for the MSK Musculo-Skeletal physiotherapy service should simply take a seat: your clinician will collect you from Reception.

Inpatients

You must be referred to Clayponds by an NHS healthcare professional, as we do not have facilities for self-referred, private, emergency or urgent care patients.

Each referral is screened by the Multidisciplinary Team to ensure that all patients' needs are appropriate to Clayponds' rehabilitation care.  The Bed Manager ensures that patients are admitted as soon as an appropriate bed is available.

Visiting times are from 11am - 8pm.

If you would like to make a donation to Clayponds, please visit our fundraising page.  All donations are used for the benefit of patients and staff, where amenities cannot be funded by the NHS.
