ENT - ear, nose and throat

The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department covers and treats a wide range of conditions at our four main hospitals - Central Middlesex, Ealing and Northwick Park and St Mark's hospitals. Find out more about the services below and the ENT operations we perform.

Head and neck diseases
We manage various head and neck conditions involving the nose and post nasal space, oral cavity, pharynx and larynx, as well as thyroid and salivary gland disease. Skin cancers involving the ears, nose and lips are also treated. Patients are managed in a multidisciplinary team involving oncology, speech and language therapy, dieticians and maxillo-facial surgeon.

Nose and sinus diseases
Diseases affecting the nasal cavity and external nose are managed both medically and surgically. They can include congenital and acquired nasal deformity, chronic and acute rhinosinusitis and nasal allergy.

Ear diseases
We also perform advanced middle ear surgical procedures. Our fully equipped audiology department improves patient care by providing both standard and digital hearing aids.

Paediatric ENT
We offer a comprehensive diagnostic service for paediatric ENT such as glue ear, recurrent tonsillitis, ENT infections and investigation of hearing loss. We undertake all general paediatric ENT surgery, with the exception of under-twos and complex craniofacial disorders and genetic conditions with complex pathophysiology.

We have dedicated paediatric outpatient clinics at Central Middlesex Hospital and are working towards this at Northwick Park Hospital. Dedicated paediatric theatre lists are supported by specialised paediatric nursing staff.
