Northwick Park day nursery and pre-school

London North West Healthcare NHS Trust has an onsite high quality nursery at Northwick Park Hospital. As an employee of the Trust, you can benefit from use of the Northwick Park day nursery, which is conveniently located in the hospital grounds behind the sports centre and social club.

The nursery is situated in the grounds of Northwick Park Hospital, a short distance from Northwick Park tube station, and offers childcare to the families of staff who work at the hospital, as well as those who live in the local community.

There are two purpose-built nursery buildings, which are separated into Under Two’s and Over Two’s age groups. Each building has a Nursery Manager and a Deputy Manager, who work closely as a team to ensure that Northwick Park offers the highest quality of childcare and education.

The light, spacious nursery rooms provide a stimulating environment, allowing children to learn and play, and are geared to the specific needs of developing children. Classrooms are thoughtfully designed, and each nursery room opens out onto our large garden area, which has a soft play surface and grassed areas.

The Under Two’s nursery rooms are designed so that children can feel safe and secure while playing and learning. The experienced staff team plan childcare activities that meet each of the children’s next stages of development and the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Babies learn through their senses, and so a wide variety of tactile play is available to them, supporting their cognitive development.

The Over Two’s nursery rooms focus on preparing children for school. Fun and exciting learning activities promote learning in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, developing their skills for later life and giving them a head start for future education. The Under Two’s building has just been completely freshly redecorated throughout in soft, welcoming colours.

The nursery offers a range of extra-curricular classes, including Tiny Mites Music and Movement session, Cookery Club and our optional computing skills Click IT Club sessions. Recently launched classes include Spanish, Gymboree and optional Piano lessons!

Nutritious meals are freshly prepared at the nursery by our onsite chef, catering for all dietary requirements.

"Children are cared for in a nursery where the highly enthused and energetic staff have created an environment that is exciting and inspiring. The staff plan activities and events that are responsive to children's individual needs and interests. For example, an interest in how children travel to nursery led to exciting opportunities to create models and pictures of cars trains and buggies. The system for observation and assessment is accurate and shows very clearly the progress children have made while in the nursery. Children are encouraged to play and learn by the range of stimulating activities that capture their imagination." Ofsted, September 2013

The nursery offers preferential rates for Trust Employees:

  • Under 3 year olds – 47.11 per day
  • Over 3 year olds – 39.31 per day
