Uplifting news for patient

A company has installed a free stair-lift after hearing about a patient with advanced cancer struggling to use the stairs.

The 26 year-old who lives in Harrow was diagnosed with a form of cancer which damaged to her lungs and affected her mobility.

Acorn , which already enjoys a national partnership with the Marie Curie charity, linked up with Harrow Community Palliative team.

Kerry Wloskowicz , a MacMillan clinical nurse specialist, said: “The family didn’t have the funds to get a stair-lift installed and the patient was getting frustrated because simply getting downstairs to spend time with her family took so much effort. It’s a lovely gesture.”
